I have designed an intake shield like none other. This shield is designed to seclude the intake filter in a specific area where air temperatures can be better controlled when an aftermarket filter is installed. Because of the particular design in the Audi's and some VW cars, the air intake filter is located next to the exhaust manifold. This hot area of the engine bay robs the car of valuable horsepower. It is whats known as heat soak. The colder you can get your intake temperatures the more HP you can get. In the past people have rebelled against installing high flow cone style air filters because of this problem. The stock airbox was the only solution to protect the filter from hot air. With my shield design you can now get that cone style filter and increase your HP because of the protective shielding. For those that wish to keep the factory air box, you can still add this heat shield for additional protection. Installing a aftermarket cone style filter can increase the sound of the turbo as well you can hear the "whoosh" sound similar to a blow off valve sound when shifting or letting off the gas. This is a subtle yet pleasing sound to any enthusiast.
